Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Plasterer’s Assistant to join our dedicated team in Rochester, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for ongoing work with weekly pay in the construction industry. The successful candidate will support our experienced plasterers, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves a variety of tasks, from preparing work sites to mixing materials and assisting with plaster application. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare work areas by cleaning, sanding, and covering surfaces to protect against plaster splatter.
  • Mix plaster, stucco, and other finishing materials according to specifications and consistency requirements.
  • Assist lead plasterers with the application of various plaster finishes, including spreading, smoothing, and texturing.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from work sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning tools and equipment after use.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned by the site supervisor or lead plasterer.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures on a construction site.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Prior experience in a construction, labor, or trades environment (e.g., general labor, painting, drywall).
  • Familiarity with plastering tools and materials.
