Job Description
Are you seeking an exciting summer opportunity to work outdoors, assist guests, and potentially kickstart a career in water safety? Maryborough Riverbend Resort is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Poolside Attendant to join our vibrant team for the summer season. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy customer interaction, maintaining a safe environment, and are eager to learn. We provide comprehensive training, including preparation for lifeguard certification, making this an ideal entry point for those interested in aquatic safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests using the pool facilities
- Monitor the pool area to ensure guest safety and adherence to rules
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, lounge chairs, and surrounding areas
- Set up and put away pool equipment, towels, and recreational items
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to guest inquiries and requests
- Administer basic first aid if necessary (training provided)
- Attend all required training sessions, including lifeguard preparation
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to management
- Collaborate with other resort staff to ensure a seamless guest experience
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, friendly, and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting in an outdoor environment
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in water safety
- Must be at least 16 years old
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (desirable, but not required – training provided)
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality (even if minimal)
- A genuine interest in aquatic safety and a desire to pursue lifeguard certification
