Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to your community and gain valuable work experience? Canada Post is hiring Seasonal Contract Postal Clerks / Sorters in Mississauga, Ontario. This is an entry-level position and **no prior experience is required** – we provide comprehensive training! You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for efficiently processing mail and parcels, ensuring they reach their destinations on time. This seasonal role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are available for flexible shifts during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort mail and parcels according to established procedures and postal codes.
- Operate sorting equipment and machinery safely and efficiently after training.
- Load and unload mail containers, ensuring proper handling of items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other general duties as assigned to support postal operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) repeatedly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic literacy skills (reading addresses and postal codes).
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the peak season.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with postal codes or geographic areas.
