Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic research team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in environmental science, focusing on coastal ecosystem resilience and climate change adaptation strategies. The successful candidate will work on an externally funded project, utilizing advanced analytical techniques and contributing to high-impact publications. This role is crucial for developing innovative solutions to pressing environmental challenges facing coastal communities in Wales and beyond. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, adhering to project timelines and objectives.
- Design and execute experiments, collect and analyze complex datasets.
- Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including academic staff, other researchers, and external partners.
- Contribute to the supervision and mentoring of PhD students and research assistants.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and secure additional research funding.
- Participate in outreach activities to disseminate research findings to stakeholders and the wider public.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Oceanography, Marine Biology, Ecology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative data analysis and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).
- Proven track record of scientific publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS software and spatial analysis.
- Prior experience in fieldwork related to coastal or marine environments.
- Familiarity with climate change modeling or adaptation research.
