Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic research team within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. This exciting position involves contributing to a cutting-edge project focused on advanced materials for sustainable energy applications. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting experimental research, data analysis, and the dissemination of findings through publications and conferences. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental protocols for materials synthesis and characterisation.
- Operate and maintain specialised laboratory equipment.

- Contribute to the writing of research grants and proposals.
- Supervise and mentor junior researchers or PhD students, as appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
Required Skills
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in experimental research, specifically in materials synthesis or characterisation.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., OriginLab, MATLAB, Python).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong publication record in relevant high-impact journals.
- Experience with advanced characterisation techniques (e.g., electron microscopy, spectroscopy).
- Prior experience in grant writing or project management.
- Experience in the field of sustainable energy or electrochemistry.
