Job Description
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Primary / Elementary School Teachers to join our diverse team at the San Francisco Unified School District. As an Elementary School Teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences for students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards for elementary-aged students.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student performance, progress, and behavioral expectations.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administration to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by district policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching credential or eligibility for reciprocity/certification in California or home country equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to work with a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a specialized teaching area.
- Prior teaching experience in an elementary school setting (including student teaching).
- Experience with restorative practices or social-emotional learning curricula.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued.
