Job Description
Lausanne Collegiate School is seeking passionate and dedicated Primary / Elementary School Teachers to join our dynamic faculty. We welcome international candidates who are eager to contribute to a diverse and globally-minded educational environment. As an Elementary Teacher, you will be responsible for fostering a positive and engaging learning atmosphere, delivering a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with our IB World School philosophy, and nurturing the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. This role requires a commitment to inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and collaboration with colleagues, students, and parents. We are looking for educators who are enthusiastic about inspiring young minds and preparing them to be compassionate, lifelong learners in an ever-changing world.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework and school curriculum.
- Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning for all students.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow teachers, specialists, and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress, development, and school activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school-wide events.
- Integrate technology effectively into daily instruction and classroom management.
- Model and promote the IB Learner Profile attributes within the classroom and school community.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification/license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience at the elementary level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of child development and pedagogical best practices
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Proficiency in educational technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a related field
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)
- Experience teaching in an international or multicultural school setting
- Proficiency in additional languages
- Demonstrated ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking
