Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Property Maintenance Assistant (Handyman/Mate) to join our team in Richmond, BC. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with a strong desire to learn and develop practical trade skills. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training and mentorship to help you succeed. You will work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure our property remains in excellent condition, providing a safe and pleasant environment for our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance technicians with routine repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic handyman duties such as fixing minor leaks, replacing light bulbs, and clearing drains.
- Help with general upkeep of the property, including painting, minor carpentry, and patch work.
- Learn to operate and maintain various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Respond to and resolve minor maintenance requests from staff and management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report larger repair needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Support the team in emergency maintenance situations as required.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools.
- A passion for hands-on work and building maintenance.
- Previous experience in a customer service environment is a plus.
