Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Pub Cellar Keg Mover to join our St. Albert team. This essential role involves the safe and efficient movement of heavy kegs within pub cellars, including navigating stairs and confined underground spaces. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, organizing, and ensuring the proper rotation of keg inventory. This is a demanding physical role that requires strength, stamina, and a keen awareness of safety protocols. Full training will be provided to ensure you are proficient in all aspects of the job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, unload, and transport heavy beer kegs (up to 70kg/150lbs) between delivery vehicles and pub cellars.
  • Maneuver kegs in confined spaces, including up and down stairs in underground cellars.
  • Organize and maintain accurate inventory of kegs within designated cellar areas.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Inspect kegs for damage or leaks and report any issues promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas in pub cellars.
  • Communicate effectively with pub staff regarding deliveries and cellar management.
  • Operate manual and powered material handling equipment safely as required (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks).

  • Exceptional physical strength and stamina, with the ability to repeatedly lift and move heavy objects.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Comfortable working in diverse environments, including cool, damp, and potentially confined spaces.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., warehouse, construction, general labour).
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification or experience with pallet jacks.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management.
