Job Description
Join Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) as a Local Authority Billing Clerk and contribute to the essential services provided to our community. You will be responsible for accurately processing utility bills, managing customer accounts, and providing exceptional service for billing inquiries, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and generate utility bills for residential and commercial customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing statements, payment options, and account adjustments via phone, email, and in-person.
- Maintain precise customer account information and update records as necessary.
- Perform data verification, reconciliation, and audits to ensure billing integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare various reports related to billing activities, account status, and collections efforts.
- Assist in the research and resolution of complex billing issues.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless customer service and operational efficiency.
