Job Description

This is an entry-level position offering comprehensive, full training. In this fast-paced and critical role, you will be the first point of contact for members of the public during emergencies and non-emergencies, providing vital support and dispatching resources. Your ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and act swiftly will directly impact the safety and well-being of London’s communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer emergency (999) and non-emergency (101) calls, gathering crucial information efficiently and accurately.
- Provide clear, calm, and concise instructions to callers, often in highly stressful or emotional situations.
- Prioritize and dispatch appropriate police resources (officers, vehicles) to incidents based on urgency and location.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls and actions within our dispatch systems.
- Collaborate closely with police officers, other emergency services, and internal departments.
- Monitor radio channels and communicate effectively with field units.
- Adhere to all operational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines of the Metropolitan Police Service.
- Continuously develop skills through ongoing training and feedback.

Preferred Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
