Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Public Service Recruitment specialist with a passion for talent acquisition to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This role focuses on attracting, assessing, and onboarding high-calibre candidates to various departments across the Tasmanian public service. You will play a crucial role in building a skilled and resilient workforce, contributing to the government’s ability to deliver essential services to the Tasmanian community. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for a diverse range of public service roles, from advertising to offer management.
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a broad and diverse talent pool.
- Conduct thorough screening, interviewing, and assessment of candidates to ensure alignment with role requirements and public service values.
- Provide expert advice and support to hiring managers on recruitment best practices, policy, and legislative requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records and recruitment data within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Prepare comprehensive recruitment reports and analytics to inform strategic workforce planning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment policies, processes, and systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external recruitment partners.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in end-to-end recruitment, preferably within a public sector or large organisational context.
- Strong understanding of contemporary recruitment methodologies, talent sourcing, and candidate assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple recruitment campaigns simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
- Sound knowledge of relevant employment legislation and public sector employment principles.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with public sector remuneration and classification structures.
- Certification in psychometric assessment tools or behavioural interviewing.
- Previous experience with a Tasmanian Government agency.
