Job Description

Healthwise Communications is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Remote Medical Writer with a strong Healthcare Knowledge Focus to join our growing team. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in Australia, with our headquarters notionally based in Toowoomba, Queensland. As a Medical Writer, you will play a crucial role in translating complex scientific and clinical data into clear, accurate, and compelling content for a variety of medical and scientific audiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches and synthesize complex scientific data from various sources.
  • Develop clear, concise, and scientifically accurate medical and scientific content for diverse formats and target audiences.
  • Ensure all content adheres to relevant ethical guidelines, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, internal team members (e.g., project managers, editors, graphic designers), and external subject matter experts.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Incorporate feedback from clients and internal reviewers, ensuring content remains accurate and consistent.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and medical communication best practices.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science, pharmacy, medicine, or related field.
  • Minimum of 24 months of experience in medical writing, scientific communications, or a related healthcare field.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical research, and scientific principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong grasp of grammar, style, and syntax.
  • Proven ability to interpret and synthesize complex scientific data accurately and effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, error-free content.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant scientific or medical discipline.
  • Experience with specific therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, immunology, cardiology).
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines relevant to medical communications (e.g., Good Publication Practice, ICH-GCP).
  • Experience using reference management software (e.g., EndNote, Zotero).
