Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Reptile / Exotic Pet Breeder Assistant to join our specialized animal care team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with a strong interest in herpetology and exotic animal care who are eager to learn and grow within the field. You will play a crucial role in the daily maintenance, health monitoring, and breeding support of our diverse collection of reptiles and exotic pets. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to start a career in specialized animal husbandry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily feeding routines for a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and other exotic pets according to specific dietary plans.
- Execute thorough daily cleaning and sanitization of enclosures, terrariums, and breeding facilities.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns or changes to senior breeders/management.
- Assist with breeding protocols, including egg collection, incubation setup, and hatchling care.
- Maintain accurate records of animal feeding, growth, breeding activities, and health observations.
- Prepare and organize food, supplements, and supplies for animal care.
- Assist with general facility maintenance and organization.
- Follow all safety protocols and animal handling procedures diligently.
- Learn and apply best practices in exotic animal husbandry and breeding.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for animals, particularly reptiles and exotic species.
- Exceptional attention to detail and observation skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
