Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director to lead our sales initiatives within the defense and aerospace sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, driving revenue growth, and expanding our market presence. This role requires a proven leader with exceptional negotiation skills, a deep understanding of complex defense procurement processes, and a strong track record of securing high-value contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve ambitious revenue targets and market share growth.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify and cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, defense ministries, and industry partners.
- Negotiate and close complex, long-term contracts, ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product development, and marketing teams to ensure successful product positioning and delivery.
- Prepare and present detailed sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses to senior leadership.
- Represent BAE Systems at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales leadership within the defense, aerospace, or complex engineering sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful strategic sales plans.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and securing large-scale contracts.
- Strong understanding of defense procurement cycles, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Ability to build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience with international defense sales and export regulations.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
