Job Description
Are you looking for a meaningful part-time role that allows you to contribute directly to the safety of our community? The City of Fremantle is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as School Crossing Supervisors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe passage of primary school children across designated roads before and after school hours. Key Responsibilities
- Safely guide primary school children and pedestrians across designated school crossings.
- Manage traffic flow during peak school hours to ensure pedestrian safety.
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations and crossing procedures.
- Interact positively and professionally with children, parents, and the general public.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Maintain a visible and professional presence while on duty.
- Operate crossing equipment, such as stop signs, safely and effectively.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to child safety.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Hold a current valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Successful completion of required training provided by the City of Fremantle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a community-facing role.
- Knowledge of local traffic rules and pedestrian safety guidelines.
- First Aid certification (desirable but not mandatory).
