Job Description
Are you an early riser with a passion for fresh food and excellent customer service? Sainsbury’s in Worthing is looking for a dedicated Seafood Prep / Fishmonger Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial to ensuring our fresh fish counter is stocked with high-quality, beautifully prepared seafood for our customers each day. You’ll be part of a vibrant team, learning the craft of fish preparation, ensuring hygiene standards are met, and providing helpful advice to shoppers. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the food retail sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and display of a wide range of fresh fish and seafood products.
- Ensure the fish counter is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering product recommendations and cooking advice.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Assist with receiving and checking deliveries of fresh produce.
- Operate and clean equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
