Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart a career in a hands-on trade? Adelaide Secure Screens & Doors is seeking a motivated and reliable Security Screen Offsider to join our dynamic team. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required – we are looking for individuals with a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality workmanship. You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning the ropes of security screen and door installation, maintenance, and repair. This role offers fantastic on-the-job training and a clear pathway for professional development within our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the installation, measurement, and repair of security screens and doors at various residential and commercial sites.
- Learn to identify different types of security products and installation techniques.
- Safely load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles.
- Prepare work sites by setting up safety equipment and ensuring clear access.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles, tools, and work areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures diligently.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and clients.
- Perform general labouring tasks as required to support the installation team.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and a positive 'can-do' attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- A valid Australian driver's license (manual preferred but not essential for initial entry).
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) – can be obtained during initial training.
- Previous experience in a similar manual labour or assistant role (even if unpaid).
