Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Aged Care Nurse to join our vibrant team in Carnarvon. This is a pivotal role that not only offers a high level of clinical responsibility but also significant leadership opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical nursing care and assessment to aged care residents.
- Lead and supervise a team of nurses and care staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in conjunction with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aged care standards, policies, and regulations.
- Manage medication administration and complex wound care.
- Act as a mentor and provide ongoing training and support to junior nursing staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Minimum 5 years of post-registration clinical experience, with significant experience in aged care.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience within a healthcare setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in documentation and care planning systems.
- Commitment to person-centered care and resident dignity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Gerontology, Aged Care, or Leadership/Management.
- Experience with accreditation processes and quality auditing in aged care.
- Advanced First Aid certification.
