Job Description
Regatta Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sewing Machinist to join our production team in Blackburn, Lancashire. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce garments and textile products according to specifications, maintaining high standards of precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various industrial sewing machines (e.g., single needle, overlock, coverstitch) to assemble garment components.
- Perform precise stitching, hemming, seaming, and other sewing operations as per design specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet company quality benchmarks.
- Maintain machinery, performing minor adjustments and reporting any maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret patterns and specifications.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic understanding of garment construction.
- Experience with various fabric types.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in garment production or industrial sewing.
- Experience with specific machinery used in outdoor wear manufacturing (e.g., seam sealing machines).
