Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and vigilant SIA Security Officer to join our dedicated team in Brighton. As an SIA Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their assets. This crucial role requires excellent observational skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of security. You will be a vital part of protecting premises, preventing theft, and ensuring the well-being of all individuals on site. This is an on-site position requiring a professional and proactive approach to security.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of premises and perimeters to detect and deter security breaches.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarm panels, responding promptly to any alerts or incidents.
- Control access points, verifying identification and authorising entry for approved personnel and visitors.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation accurately.
- Liaise effectively with clients, staff, and emergency services when necessary.
- Implement and adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms and medical incidents, in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide a visible security presence, acting as a deterrent to unauthorised activities.
- Undertake bag and person searches as required by site specific procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all site-specific Assignment Instructions and relevant security legislation.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated understanding of security procedures and protocols.
- A customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role (e.g., retail, corporate, event security).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CCTV Public Space Surveillance (PSS) license.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Knowledge of local area security risks.
