Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career with a leading media company? oOh!media is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Sign Installer Assistant in Geelong. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity – no prior experience is required! We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, possess a strong work ethic, and enjoy working outdoors. You will be fully trained to assist our experienced installers with the setup, maintenance, and removal of various types of signage across our diverse network. This role involves travel within the Geelong region and surrounding areas, providing a dynamic work environment where every day brings new challenges and locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior installers in the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and removal of various types of outdoor signage.
- Learn to operate and handle tools and equipment safely, including drills, ladders, and basic hand tools.
- Prepare work sites by setting up safety barriers and ensuring a clean and organised environment.
- Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on signage.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and the public.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues as needed.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to installations and maintenance tasks.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 25kg) and work comfortably at heights.
- Possession of a valid Australian driver's license (manual preferred but not essential).
- Strong willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various work environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols or willingness to undergo safety training.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., construction, landscaping, warehouse) is a plus, but not required.
- Any relevant safety certifications (e.g., White Card) are a bonus.
