Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to earn excellent pay while keeping your local community safe during winter? Ground Control Ltd. is seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to join our on-call Snow Shoveling Crew in Bradford. This is a temporary, high-paying role, perfect for those who are available at short notice during snowy and icy conditions. No prior experience is required – we provide all necessary training and equipment. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring pathways, entrances, and car parks are clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to call-outs for snow and ice removal during winter weather events.
- Efficiently clear snow from designated areas, including walkways, entrances, and car parks, using shovels and other hand tools.
- Apply de-icing agents (gritting) as instructed to prevent ice formation and ensure safe surfaces.
- Operate basic snow removal equipment safely and effectively (training provided).
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team leaders and other crew members.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while on client sites.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to lift and move snow for extended periods.
- Reliability and availability to respond to on-call requests, often at short notice.
- Ability to work outdoors in cold, wet, and challenging weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety protocols.
- No prior experience in snow removal required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport to reach various sites in Bradford.
- Previous experience in manual labour or outdoor work.
- Familiarity with local Bradford geography.
