Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Solar Installation Supervisor to lead our installation teams in Spruce Grove and surrounding areas. This crucial role involves overseeing the complete lifecycle of solar PV projects, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The successful candidate will be a strong leader, technically proficient in solar systems, and passionate about renewable energy. We are offering a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for eligible international candidates who meet the requirements for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate solar installation crews on residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Ensure all solar PV installations comply with engineering specifications, local building codes, and Bluewater Energy's quality standards.
- Conduct thorough site assessments, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain project flow.
- Rigorously enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections.
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to junior installers, promoting skill development and continuous improvement.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within financial parameters.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare detailed daily progress reports, maintain accurate project documentation, and manage material inventory effectively.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in solar PV system installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., CEC) and best practices for solar installation.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Expertise in using standard construction tools and specialized solar installation equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification or equivalent industry credential.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- OSHA 30-hour or equivalent construction safety certification.
- Experience with various inverter technologies (e.g., string, microinverters, optimizers).
- Familiarity with Alberta's specific building codes and regulations.
- Formal training or certification in project management.
