Job Description
Are you passionate about the magic of special effects makeup and eager to kickstart your career in the film industry? Lumina FX Studio is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Special Effects Makeup (SFX) Intern to join our dynamic team. This entry-level internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional studio environment, working alongside our experienced SFX artists. You will learn the foundational techniques, materials, and processes involved in creating stunning visual effects makeup for a variety of productions. This is an on-site position based in our Kensington studio, providing a unique chance to immerse yourself in the creative process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting senior SFX artists with the preparation of materials and workstations.
- Learning and applying basic SFX techniques under supervision, including prosthetics application, wound creation, and character makeup.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the SFX workshop and equipment.
- Researching various makeup styles, historical periods, and special effects techniques.
- Supporting on-set applications and touch-ups as required.
- Organizing and cataloging SFX supplies and inventory.
- Performing administrative tasks to support the SFX department.
