Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Sterilization Assistant to join our dedicated medical team on a part-time basis for day work. This entry-level role is crucial in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for our patients and staff. The Sterilization Assistant will be responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to infection control policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and Australian Standards.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washer-disinfectors.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality, reporting any defects or issues.
- Prepare and package sterile instrument sets for various medical procedures.
- Manage and maintain inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere strictly to infection control guidelines and safety procedures.
- Assist with other general duties within the medical facility as required.
