Job Description

Are you passionate about the land, livestock, and looking to kickstart a rewarding career in Australia’s vibrant agricultural industry? Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Stockman / Stockwoman Trainee at our station near Emerald, QLD. This entry-level position is perfect for those with little to no prior experience, as we provide full, on-the-job training in all aspects of station life and rural skills. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cattle handling, machinery operation, fencing, and general property maintenance, all while being an integral part of our station community. With all meals provided, you can focus on learning and developing your skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily care, feeding, and movement of livestock, primarily beef cattle.
  • Participate in mustering, drafting, and yard work under supervision.
  • Learn to operate and maintain a variety of station machinery and equipment, including quad bikes, motorbikes, and tractors.
  • Assist with fencing construction, repairs, and general property maintenance.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of station facilities and equipment.
  • Observe and learn animal health and welfare practices.
  • Follow all safety protocols and work instructions diligently.
  • Engage actively in training sessions and seek opportunities to expand rural knowledge.

  • Strong work ethic and a genuine enthusiasm for rural life and the agricultural industry.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and resilience for demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and safety.
  • A valid Australian driver's license (car or motorbike).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with horses or motorbikes (even recreational) is a plus but not required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in machinery.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • Understanding of basic safety procedures.
