Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Hotel Porter to join our vibrant team at Novotel Wollongong Northbeach. This full-time role primarily involves day shifts and is crucial for ensuring our guests receive a warm welcome, efficient assistance with luggage and inquiries, and a seamless experience throughout their stay. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greeting guests upon arrival and assisting with luggage handling to and from rooms.
- Providing guests with accurate information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and directions.
- Assisting guests with car parking and valet services as required.
- Handling guest requests and inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary to relevant departments.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the hotel lobby, entrance areas, and bell desk.
- Coordinating effectively with the front desk, concierge, and other departments to ensure smooth guest operations.
- Operating hotel vehicles safely for guest transportation or errands when required (if applicable and licensed).
- Adhering to all hotel policies, safety procedures, and service standards at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a hotel or similar guest-facing environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage and perform physically demanding tasks.
- A positive attitude, professional presentation, and a strong work ethic.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Reliability and punctuality for day shifts.
- Valid driver's license (desirable for valet/transport tasks).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Hotel Porter or similar guest service role.
- Good knowledge of the Wollongong area and local attractions.
- First Aid certification.
- Ability to speak multiple languages.
