Job Description
Fluid Ideas is seeking a passionate and aspiring Stop Motion Animation Intern to join our dynamic creative studio in Derby. This is an unparalleled opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a love for storytelling through animation, and a desire to learn from industry professionals. You will gain hands-on experience across various stages of stop-motion production, from concept development and set design to puppet manipulation and post-production. This internship is designed to provide comprehensive training and practical skills, setting a strong foundation for a career in animation. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist animators and creative teams in the production of stop motion animation projects.
- Help with set construction, prop creation, and puppet preparation.
- Support the lighting and camera setup for animation shoots.
- Participate in animating short sequences under guidance.
- Aid in organizing and maintaining animation equipment and workspace.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new creative concepts.
- Assist with basic post-production tasks, including editing and sound synchronization.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for stop motion animation and visual storytelling.
- Basic understanding of animation principles or a strong desire to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and patience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning new software and techniques.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Portfolio showcasing personal animation projects, drawings, or creative art (even if student or hobbyist work).

- Experience with model making, sculpting, or set design.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant art, design, or animation program.
