Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and discreet Store Detective to join our team in Mansfield. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for observing customer and colleague activity to prevent theft, fraud, and other losses within the store. You will work covertly to identify suspicious behaviour, gather evidence, and, when necessary, detain individuals in accordance with legal guidelines. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent observation skills, and the ability to act calmly and professionally under pressure. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for this specialist role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct covert surveillance of the store to identify and deter theft.
- Gather evidence of suspicious activities using appropriate methods.
- Apprehend and detain individuals suspected of theft in a safe and lawful manner.
- Complete detailed reports on incidents, including evidence and witness statements.
- Work collaboratively with store management and security teams to implement loss prevention strategies.
- Maintain a professional and discreet presence within the store.
- Adhere to all company policies and legal procedures regarding security and apprehension.
- Provide a visible deterrent when appropriate and support the overall store security function.
