Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to your community and work outdoors? Gaspé Municipal Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our City Maintenance team as a Street Lamp Post Sticker Remover. This entry-level position is crucial for preserving the aesthetic quality of our city’s public infrastructure. You will be responsible for systematically identifying and removing unauthorized stickers, flyers, and graffiti from street lamp posts, traffic signal poles, and other public fixtures throughout Gaspé. Full training will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in keeping our city looking its best.
Key Responsibilities
- Systematically patrol designated routes to identify street lamp posts and other public fixtures with unauthorized stickers, flyers, or graffiti.
- Carefully remove all unauthorized materials using appropriate tools and cleaning agents, ensuring no damage to city property.
- Clean and restore surfaces to their original condition.
- Report any recurring issues or significant damage to supervisors.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and city guidelines while performing duties.
- Work effectively as part of a team or independently as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, bending, and reaching, for extended periods outdoors.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (Quebec equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with the Gaspé city layout.
- Previous experience in manual labor or outdoor work (not required, but an asset).
