Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Telecommunications Tower Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chula Vista, CA. This role is crucial for the design, analysis, and maintenance of our extensive telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and optimal performance of cell towers and related facilities, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of new and existing telecommunications towers and foundations.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct site visits to assess tower conditions, gather data, and ensure construction quality.
- Develop engineering reports, calculations, and detailed designs using specialized software.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure project success.
- Ensure all designs and modifications comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the resolution of complex technical issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all engineering activities and project progress.
- Participate in safety training and adhere to all company safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications tower structural analysis and design.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., tnxTower, RISA-3D).
- Strong understanding of TIA/EIA standards and local building codes.
- Familiarity with RF principles and telecommunications equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various tower sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain one.
- Master's degree in a related engineering field.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation design.
