Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Ticketing Specialist to join our team in Geelong. In this vital role, you will be responsible for issuing, reissuing, and managing airline tickets for our valued passengers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with airline policies and fare rules. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new ticket bookings, changes, cancellations, and refunds accurately using Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
  • Verify fare rules, availability, and routing to ensure correct ticket issuance and reissuance.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding flight schedules, fare structures, and baggage allowances.
  • Resolve ticketing discrepancies and troubleshoot booking issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of airline policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist passengers with special requests and ensure all travel documentation is correct.
  • Manage queues and ensure all ticketing tasks are completed within specified service level agreements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 18 months experience in an airline, travel agency, or related aviation ticketing role.
  • Proficiency in at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
  • Strong understanding of airline fare rules, pricing, and ticketing procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Tourism, Hospitality, or Aviation.
  • Familiarity with IATA ticketing regulations and standards.
  • Experience with international ticketing and complex itineraries.
  • Fluency in an additional language.
