Job Description

We are looking for empathetic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Trainee Mental Health Support Workers in Drummondville. This is an incredible opportunity for those with no prior experience in the field, as we provide full, comprehensive training from day one. You will play a crucial role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping them navigate their recovery journey, develop coping strategies, and access community resources. Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate one-on-one support to clients, fostering a safe and respectful environment.
- Assist clients in developing and practicing daily living skills, social skills, and coping mechanisms.
- Support clients in accessing community resources, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Document client interactions, progress, and observations accurately and confidentially.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic client care.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Participate actively in all provided training and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- Exceptional empathy and compassion for individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive, non-judgmental attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic support environment.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation purposes.
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous volunteer experience in a care-giving or support role.
- Knowledge of local community resources in Drummondville and the Centre-du-Québec region.
