Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and companionship to individuals, fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence and well-being.
- Monitor and observe the well-being and behavior of individuals, reporting any significant changes to senior staff.
- Support individuals in participating in recreational, social, and therapeutic activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of observations and support provided.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with individuals, their families, and the care team.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate actively in all required training and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Exceptional empathy and compassion for others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Willingness to learn and commit to comprehensive training.

Preferred Qualifications
- Some completed coursework in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer experience in a healthcare or social service setting.
- Valid New York State Driver's License.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (training can be provided).
