Job Description
Start your career with Orkin as a Trainee Pest Control Technician! We offer a comprehensive, paid training program to equip you with all the skills needed; no prior experience is required. A company van will be provided for your daily routes. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated individuals looking to build a stable career in a vital industry. You’ll learn to identify, prevent, and eliminate pest infestations, ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients in the Mott Haven area and beyond. Key Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive paid training program to learn pest identification, treatment techniques, and safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain a company vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in good working order for daily routes.
- Follow a daily schedule, visiting customer locations to perform thorough pest control services.
- Apply treatments according to company standards, safety guidelines, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers about pest issues, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, products used, and customer interactions.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and environmental regulations at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building positive relationships with clients.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and commit to a comprehensive training program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a customer-facing role or service industry.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry or biology.
- Familiarity with the Mott Haven/Bronx geographic area.
