Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Water Damage Restoration Assistant to join our dynamic team on an on-call roster. This role is perfect for individuals who are ready to respond to emergencies at any time, day or night, and are eager to work hard, learn new skills, and earn significant overtime. As a crucial part of our restoration crew, you will assist in the mitigation, cleanup, and restoration of properties affected by water damage. Training will be provided, but a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to be available for emergency calls are essential. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency water damage calls, day or night, as part of an on-call rotation.
- Set up and monitor drying equipment, including dehumidifiers, air movers, and air scrubbers.
- Extract standing water using pumps and wet vacuums.
- Perform demolition of damaged building materials, such as drywall, flooring, and insulation.
- Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent mold growth and further damage.
- Load and unload equipment and supplies from company vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and company vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated heights.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, due to on-call nature.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a physically demanding role.
- IICRC certification (e.g., WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician).
- Experience operating various hand and power tools.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
