Job Description
Are you passionate about mechanics and looking to kick-start a rewarding career? Royal Mail Group is offering an exciting Trainee Postal Fleet Mechanic Apprenticeship Opportunity in Bootle, Merseyside. This is a fantastic chance for individuals with little to no prior experience to gain hands-on training, valuable skills, and formal qualifications while working with a supportive and experienced team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our extensive fleet of postal vehicles, ensuring they are safe and efficient to keep the mail moving across the country. Full training will be provided, leading to a recognized industry qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified mechanics with routine vehicle maintenance and servicing.
- Learn to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on a variety of vehicles.
- Conduct safety checks and preventative maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete all required coursework and practical assessments for the apprenticeship program.
- Develop a strong understanding of vehicle systems and components.
