Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering student looking to gain practical, real-world experience? TasNetworks is offering an exciting Vacation Intern opportunity based in Launceston. This internship is designed for students with limited to no prior work experience, providing a foundational understanding of critical infrastructure operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to vital projects that support Tasmania’s energy future. This is a fantastic chance to apply your academic knowledge, develop new skills, and explore potential career paths within the energy and utilities industry. Full training and mentorship will be provided, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior electrical engineers with project research and data analysis.
- Support the design and maintenance of electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Participate in site visits to observe network operations and project progress (under supervision).
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Contribute to problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with various engineering teams to understand cross-functional dependencies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program at an Australian university.
- Strong academic record, demonstrating foundational knowledge in electrical principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- No prior professional experience required; enthusiasm for the field is key.
