Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Legal Assistant to join our busy Conveyancing team in Toowoomba. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced solicitors and play a crucial part in managing a diverse range of property transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting our clients and legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage conveyancing documents, including contracts of sale, transfer documents, and settlement statements.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, real estate agents, banks, and other legal professionals.
  • Conduct property searches and due diligence.
  • Maintain organised client files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist solicitors with general administrative tasks and diary management.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
  • Coordinate and prepare for settlements, ensuring all conditions are met.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within conveyancing.
  • Proficiency in legal practice management software (e.g., LEAP, Actionstep) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Legal Services or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Familiarity with Queensland property law and conveyancing procedures.
  • Experience with electronic conveyancing platforms (e.g., PEXA).
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
