Job Description

Are you looking for an active, outdoor role where you can contribute to providing fresh produce to our community? Suncoast Harvest Farms is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Part-time Vegetable Harvester. Based in our rural Nambour operations, this role involves the careful and efficient harvesting of various seasonal vegetables according to quality standards. You will be part of a friendly team working on a day roster, contributing directly to the success of our farm. No prior extensive experience is necessary, as full training on harvesting techniques and farm safety will be provided. This physically demanding role requires a good work ethic and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manually harvesting a variety of seasonal vegetables with care and efficiency.
  • Operating and maintaining basic harvesting tools and equipment.
  • Adhering to strict quality control standards for all harvested produce.
  • Following farm safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
  • Working effectively as part of a team to meet daily harvesting targets.
  • Assisting with general farm duties as required, such as weeding or packing.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, sun, light rain).
  • Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail to ensure quality produce is harvested.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or a similar outdoor manual role.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our rural location.
  • Basic knowledge of vegetable types and harvesting techniques.
  • First Aid certification.
