Job Description
Join our team as a Police Assistance Line Operator and become a vital link between the community and law enforcement. Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming non-emergency calls from the public with professionalism and empathy.
- Gather accurate and detailed information from callers regarding incidents, inquiries, or reports.
- Accurately document all call details and actions taken into our dispatch system.
- Provide callers with appropriate information, guidance, or refer them to relevant departments/agencies.
- Dispatch non-emergency police units or other resources as per established protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to all data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel and other emergency services as needed.
- Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development sessions.
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor while handling diverse and sometimes challenging situations.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English fluently.
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capacity to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or call center environment.
- Familiarity with the geography of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and surrounding Union County areas.
