Job Description
Are you a natural conversationalist with a passion for helping others feel welcome? Rogers Communications is seeking a Virtual Community Welcomer to join our dynamic remote team. In this chat-based role, you will be the first point of contact for new members joining our online communities, ensuring they have a positive and engaging introduction to our platforms. This is a unique opportunity to shape the initial experience of our users, guide them through resources, and foster a friendly, inclusive atmosphere, all from the comfort of your home. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively welcome new community members via chat, providing a friendly and informative introduction.
- Answer common questions and guide members to relevant resources, FAQs, and community guidelines.
- Facilitate initial engagement by suggesting relevant discussion topics or groups.
- Monitor chat channels for new member activity and offer assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with community moderators and support teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Collect feedback from new members to identify areas for improvement in the welcoming process.
- Maintain a positive, patient, and professional demeanor in all interactions.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication skills with a friendly and approachable tone.
- Strong empathy and active listening abilities.
- Proficiency in typing and navigating web-based chat platforms.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with online tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
