Job Description
Are you passionate about fashion, visual aesthetics, and creating captivating retail environments? Nordstrom is seeking a highly motivated and creative Visual Merchandising Intern to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in visual merchandising within a fast-paced, high-end retail setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Visual Merchandising team in executing floor sets, window displays, and in-store visual presentations according to corporate guidelines.
- Support the maintenance of visual standards, including cleanliness, organization, and display functionality.
- Participate in the setup and takedown of seasonal campaigns and promotional displays.
- Help with inventory management of visual props and fixtures.
- Learn about current fashion trends and how they translate into compelling visual merchandising.
- Provide support during store walkthroughs and contribute ideas for visual improvements.
- Collaborate with sales associates and management to ensure visual directives are understood and implemented.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for fashion, retail, and visual aesthetics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic understanding of design principles or an eagerness to learn.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move display fixtures and merchandise as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Visual Arts, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a retail environment (even non-visual roles) is a plus but not required.
- A portfolio showcasing creative projects or visual concepts (can be academic or personal).
