Job Description
We are urgently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Warehouse Dockhands in Buffalo, NY. This is a crucial role within our logistics operation, responsible for the efficient and safe handling of packages and freight. As a Casual Dockhand, you will play a vital part in our inbound and outbound processes, ensuring that deliveries reach their destinations on time. This position offers competitive casual penalty rates for shifts, providing flexibility and excellent earning potential for those ready to jump into a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages and freight safely and efficiently from trucks and trailers.
- Sort and scan packages according to destination and shipping labels.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with scanning equipment.
