Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Wind Turbine Technicians/Engineers to join our growing team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. We offer comprehensive visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates eager to contribute their expertise to the UK’s renewable energy sector. You will work on various turbine models, performing both routine inspections and complex repairs, adhering strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Full training on specific turbine technologies and safety standards will be provided to ensure success in this vital field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and functional tests on wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on wind turbines.
  • Execute corrective maintenance activities and ensure turbine availability is maximized.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports of work performed, including parts used, time spent, and any unusual conditions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent service needs.
  • Assist with the commissioning of new wind turbines and site equipment.
  • Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic field (e.g., automotive, aviation, industrial maintenance).
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational degree or technical certification in wind energy technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training certifications (First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, Sea Survival).
  • Previous experience working with wind turbines.
  • Experience with SCADA systems or other diagnostic software.
  • Basic computer proficiency for reporting and data entry.
