Job Description
Are you passionate about discovery and eager to learn about the world of wine? Vignoble du Ruisseau Noir is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Winery Tasting Room Pourer for weekend shifts. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who loves interacting with people and has a keen interest in viticulture and enology, regardless of prior experience. We provide comprehensive training on our wines, our story, and the art of customer service. Your primary role will be to welcome guests, guide them through our tasting experiences, share knowledge about our products, and ensure every visitor leaves with a memorable impression of our winery. This role is perfect for those looking to start a career in the wine or hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests to the tasting room and provide an exceptional visitor experience.
- Conduct guided wine tastings, pouring samples and explaining the characteristics of each wine.
- Share the story of Vignoble du Ruisseau Noir, including our history, winemaking philosophy, and vineyard practices.
- Educate guests about various wine varietals, food pairings, and proper wine storage.
- Assist guests with wine purchases, merchandise selection, and club memberships.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment.
- Restock wine and merchandise as needed, ensuring displays are appealing.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide knowledgeable responses or direct them to appropriate staff.
- Participate in opening and closing duties of the tasting room.
- Adhere to all provincial liquor laws and regulations regarding wine sales and consumption.
Required Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain information about wines and winery operations.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled weekend shifts.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or legal drinking age in Quebec).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality is a plus, but not required.
- Interest in wine, viticulture, or agriculture.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
