Job Description
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Curriculum Developer to join our 100% remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and refining engaging lesson plans and instructional materials for a variety of educational programs. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about education and instructional design to contribute to high-quality learning experiences from anywhere in Canada. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex topics into clear, concise, and interactive content suitable for diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive lesson plans, learning objectives, activities, and assessments that align with educational standards.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to gather content, ensure accuracy, and validate pedagogical effectiveness.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging instructional content for various delivery formats, including digital platforms, print materials, and multimedia.
- Review, edit, and revise existing curriculum materials based on feedback, performance data, and current educational best practices.
- Ensure all developed content adheres to accessibility guidelines and promotes inclusive learning environments.
- Participate in pilot testing new materials, collecting feedback, and implementing iterative improvements.
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and advancements in instructional design, educational technology, and curriculum development.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft clear and compelling instructional content.
- Strong understanding and application of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Demonstrated ability to create structured, goal-oriented lesson plans and learning activities.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality educational materials.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a 100% remote, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with standard office software and a basic understanding of educational technology platforms or content management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, English, Communications, or a related field.
- One year of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or lesson plan writing, preferably in K-12 or post-secondary education.
- Familiarity with various learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard.
- A portfolio demonstrating instructional writing, lesson plan development, or curriculum design projects.
- Experience working within a remote or geographically distributed team.
