Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Workplace Relations Advisor to join our thriving legal firm in Lismore. This pivotal role involves providing expert advice and support to clients on a broad spectrum of employment and industrial relations matters. You will work closely with our legal team, assisting businesses and individuals in navigating complex workplace issues, ensuring compliance, and fostering positive employment relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Australian employment law, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive advice on employment law, industrial relations, and human resource best practices.
- Assist clients with award and enterprise agreement interpretation and compliance.
- Draft and review employment contracts, workplace policies, and procedures.
- Advise on disciplinary matters, termination processes, redundancy, and unfair dismissal claims.
- Represent clients in conciliations and mediations at tribunals such as the Fair Work Commission.
- Conduct workplace investigations and provide reports and recommendations.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on workplace relations topics.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes and case law developments in employment law.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of post-admission experience in workplace relations or employment law
- In-depth knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and other relevant industrial instruments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple client matters concurrently and meet deadlines
- High level of professional integrity and ethical conduct
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a legal firm environment
- Postgraduate qualifications in industrial relations or employment law
- Experience with litigation in employment-related disputes
