Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Stock Controller to join our team in Woking. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the accuracy of stock records, and overseeing the movement of goods within our facility. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to efficiency will be vital in maintaining optimal stock levels, preventing discrepancies, and supporting the smooth operation of our supply chain. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of our operational success, ensuring products are available when and where they are needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using our stock management systems.
- Perform regular stock checks and audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate the receipt of incoming goods, verifying against purchase orders and ensuring quality control.
- Oversee the dispatch of outgoing goods, ensuring correct labelling and documentation.
- Organise and maintain the storage areas, ensuring efficient space utilisation and easy accessibility.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams to forecast demand and manage stock flow.
- Identify and report any damaged, expired, or slow-moving stock.
- Implement and adhere to health and safety procedures within the warehouse environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a stock control, warehouse, or inventory management role.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using stock management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move stock as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift truck licence (reach or counterbalance).
- Experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of retail or logistics supply chain processes.
